Thom Hayes has spent over three decades writing, editing, publishing, distributing, and selling the written word. He has published over 1,500 articles nationally and internationally, both as a civilian freelance writer and a Public Affairs Chief in the US ARMY and US ARMY National Guard, where he earned the Keith L. Ware Award for his reporting in Kosovo in 2003. A 28 year veteran of Barnes & Noble, Thom has owned or operated bookstores for 34 years. He also owned Book Brokers in the early 90’s specializing in curating and distributing books at a value to companies and schools. Building on his background in reporting and publishing, Thom founded Book Your Life, a personal biography service. Part of his commitment to giving back to community, he taught seniors to write their own biographies at the Amherst (MA) Senior Citizens Center and currently volunteers as a reading tutor at area elementary schools. Thom currently lives in North Carolina. |
